Because you know that reality is always more complex than we think!
Our documentary creations seek to inform, but above all to unblock conversations about our political and social choices. Whether it's health, neurodiversity, systemic racism, the environment, governance, or relations between men and women - our goal is not to convince you, but rather to make many different nuanced voices heard.
If after a Porte Parole performance you feel the urgent need for discussion, then we have fulfilled our mission!
Representing 20% of Porte Parole's annual budget, your donations ensure the continued rigour and independence of our organization.
Documentary theatre is a slow-art. Between the first spark of an idea and the start of a tour, there are many stages of work: preliminary research, first interviews, a draft script, a creative workshop - and so on! Step by step, the work takes shape, better and better capturing the depth and nuance of the reality under investigation.
In concrete terms, Porte Parole invests between $190,000 and $600,000 in each project. This is what it takes to create projects that rock the boat, exploring pertinent issues whilst simultaneously entertaining us.
Months of research
Hundreds of hours of interviews
A dozen creative workshops (writing, directing, digital exploration or other)
Two, three, four years of work – or more!
